Since the second half of the 20th century, Relais & Châteaux have been the place to stay if you are looking for fine dining and exceptional surroundings. In those days, the PLM (Paris - Lyon - Marseille), the famous ‘Blue’ train from the Gare de Lyon in Paris to the Côte d’Azur, acquired a road in parallel. And so, on either side of this shared route, outposts emerged where gems of fine French taste were to flourish. They would be stopping points on a Road that would later be known as the “Route du Bonheur” or “Road to Happiness”. Today the Route du Bonheur stretches beyond the borders of France and extends to all five continents of the globe.
