Pakundia (Town) consists of three mouzas. The town has an area of 5.02 sq km. It has a population of 4773; male 52.99%, female 47.01%. Literacy rate among the town people 42.3%.
Administration Pakundia thana, now an upazila, was established in 1932. The upazila consists of 10 union parishads, 97 mouzas and 170 villages.
Population 210355; male 51.26%, female 48.74%; Muslim 95.75%, Hindu 4.25%.
